I've got a 17-year-old cousin who wants to program (but, I think he's taking C classes in school, so he may already know too much).

Since this is in conjunction with LOVE, I think that all tutorials should ultimately wind up making some kind of "game" (or parts of one).

So, the array tutorial can cover storing the number of packages in a train car, then the loop tutorial can cover displaying them. Let them flow into each other, so a student can program for an hour, compile, and see shit happening.

Also, we should definitely have little quizzes and questions and assignments for those who want a structured approach at making their own code.

I could totally see using the browser-based LOVE being useful as well, so kids can just code and play without having to figure out all the packaging and stuff. :)

I'm afraid that's too old. That's bartbes's age, and he is one of the greatest sources of NSFW-ness around here. ;)

Marvellous. Especially the fecal matter. Kids love poop jokes. :P

Yeah, although it needs to be a lot more finished and polished for that.

You could always extend the shortening of Animation from An to Anim so that you're left with AnimAl. Kids f*king love animals!

This gives a quite better way to show an animation example that is equal to the name and not inappropriate... :P

Just to clarify, is this a project aimed directly at children, or aimed at children and beginning programmers?

You can never aim a weapon directly at children. :P

Children. Children interested in making games, learning how to program, etc.

Not sure how other people feel about this, but I think the LÖVE CLUB is a pretty good place for more mature beginners in programming.

The name AnimAl is interesting enough, and might turn out to be a very good idea.

(Sory if this project was intended to be serious)

Well if someone would help me than it would get polished a lot faster. :ehem:
(Oh and there are some great Improvements coming soon i hope.
But still i am not sure if this project will be ever of any use for bigger games.)
