Nice work and congratulations for putting it on itch.io! I like the super retro feel!

A few minor comments (in case you plan to work on it):
  • would be great if key repeat was used in the menus. Found it hindering that I had to repeatedly push up or down to move all the way up or down.
  • settings in the menu are not saved. I have to turn down the music each time I start
  • transitions at the end of a game could be faster IMO
  • during choosing of map: would also be great to have a preview of the map, e.g. a top-down view

Key repeat and setting saving are both things I think would make this a better game as well, I'll do what I can to make that happen!

The biggest reason I have the 3 second death transition is to prevent people from accidentally skipping the score screen. I'm concerned if I reduce it that folks would still be mashing the "A" button.

As for the Choose Map state, there is a preview in the background! Unless that's not what you're talking about, I'll lighten it up!

Thanks for your support!

Update:

v46
* Fixed collision detection (No more getting stuck in walls or stopping in single wide corridors)
* Saving settings for Time, Stock, Music Volume and Raycasting Scale

Update 2: Made the promo video live!
