Friendshape - A TOJAM Game

Post by Tanner »

TOJAM is local Toronto game jam that is in its ninth year. This year we had almost 500 people attend (and could have had more if space had allowed).

My team put together a very nice little game which I am quite happy with. Check it out! http://tannerrogalsky.itch.io/friendshape

We made the levels in Tiled and exported them directly to Lua which allowed everyone on the team to make a few levels.

Libraries that I used:
  • Middleclass
  • Stateful
  • love-loader
  • ANAL
The levels are all drawn with a single spritebatch (except the players and the clouds). Events are set up through an object layer in Tiled.

I think that's everything major. Let me know if you have any questions!

Really, really cool mechanic, congratulations on the game!

Can't help but feel the clouds are going in reverse as their face is pointing right and they are moving left.

Nice!

I really like the offline coop games a lot!

Sadly they sell not very good. Such games should get thier own Hall of Fame :-).

Can't wait to try it with a friend!

This is a really cool game.

I see some OUYA control configs in there. If you have a debug apk for it, please share!

Otherwise, I'd be happy to make one for you.
