Do you mean that you can turn around in mid-air?
Cause, if that's the problem, you would have to put in a check for whether you're in the air too before setting the x velocity.

Re: new lovecon (.love icon? hehe)
The gray stripes in the background removes the feeling of depth. Notice that you've made a floor with a shadow on it, and a wall in the background. The stripes look like the follow the wall, but then they float above the ground. The problem with that, is that it doesn't look like the stripes are flo...

Re: Lua table question ?
First of all, you're not supposed to use table.foreach (it's deprecated, and is going to be removed from Lua). You might want to have a look at: http://lua-users.org/wiki/ForTutorial So something like this: for key, bullet in pairs(selv.Bul) do bullet.y = bullet.y + 2 end I've never coded Lua, so I'm...

Re: Protecting Source?
If people don't have the source, they can simply use a packet sniffing app to figure out the protocol anyway.
Most packet sniffers are free, although there are a few commercial ones.

With bytes you could of course just remove the decimal separator, but then I guess its meaning would be too obvious.Robin wrote:B is of course impossible. That would have been 1069.6 bits!

Re: Sandboxing (poll)
One good reason is, you don't want a small game to write random shit to random files. I like the idea of giving the games limited access to the file system, as that means they are simple to install and simple to erase. I hate when uninstallers don't properly uninstall things, and I have to go throug...

Re: Sandboxing (poll)
How about something like security certificates, similar to Java, where they user has to accept that a game might run evil code. That way, people who want to use io instead of love.filesystem and os instead of, uhm, (nothing…?), can do that. All the others can make games that are happy and safe and d...

Re: Unnecessary use of the umlaut
Who are Röyksopp?. Two guys from northern Norway (Tromsø), I used to think they were from Bergen, but that's just where they formed the band. And yes, they spell it ö, in Norwegian you can use either ø or ö for the same sound, but the phonetic alphabet uses ø. Ö is more common in handwriting, since...

Re: LOVE and vim
Have you ever heard of emacs? If there's something that has everything except user-friendliness, it's emacs (and I like emacs, not sure why. I actually like vim too, but not enough to bother learning it properly). Some quotations: "Master, does Emacs have the Buddha nature?" the novice ask...
