Tutorial requests and ideas
Re: Tutorial requests and ideas
I must say good job on the tutorial, Merkoth. And I do love your wording:

A quake-style console?rude wrote:Yeah ... need to do something about that. It would perhaps be best to have a way of printing debug info directly in the LÖVE Window. (And stdout, for that matter).
Actually, I expected that somebody would check the tut a little before posting it x_X. I dunno what the hell was I thinking when I wrote that, I'm sorry. BTW, my native tongue is spanish and I learned english mostly at (public) school and on my own, so it's very likely to suckmike wrote:I must say good job on the tutorial, Merkoth. Oh, and obviously: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US

Perhaps, but with no interaction to begin with. (The point is to be able to see debug prints without exiting LÖVE).Merkoth wrote: A quake-style console?

We did have that before, ne? But it was removed when things were revamped and I must admit that I miss it...rude wrote:Perhaps, but with no interaction to begin with. (The point is to be able to see debug prints without exiting LÖVE).Merkoth wrote: A quake-style console?

Re: Tutorial requests and ideas
How about we continue this in the Future Features thread.
In relevant news: the animation tutorial is done.

You, sir, asking us to stay on topic? Go ban yourself hahaha n_nrude wrote:How about we continue this in the Future Features thread.
Great! In relevant questions: is it OK if we (that is, me and my alter-ego Htokrem) write not-so-love-specific tuts? I was thinking about scrolling (tile and HUEG picture based), collision detection (with multisampling n_n), etc? Everything implemented in LÖVE, of course.rude wrote: In relevant news: the animation tutorial is done.

Haha ... true. It's not that I in any way enjoy staying on topic, it's just that if feature request information is spread all over the forum, it will take time to track down when we eventually decide to implement those features.
Tutorials, no matter how irrelevant the the LÖVE interface itself, are always awesome and greatly appreciated.
(By the way: HUEG textures will most likely fail at some point due to texture size limits in OpenGL/hardware.)

I'm very interested in these tutorials :!:Merkoth wrote: Great! In relevant questions: is it OK if we (that is, me and my alter-ego Htokrem) write not-so-love-specific tuts? Re: Tutorial requests and ideas
Ok, I'll start with the scrolling tut.
@rude: I'm aware of the issues, don't worry.
Edit: Now that I think of it, once you guys get chipmunk in da house, no one will need to implement collisions by hand (or general physics dynamics, for that matter, heh).
