Ludum Dare 48, 15th edition

Post by Tenoch »

Ahoy!

If you LÖVE lovers have nothing to do this week end, and want to use your mad Lua skillz against madly skilled coders, be sure to give a try to Ludum Dare: http://www.ludumdare.com/
Solo, 48 hours, from scratch (game logic and assets wise), with the theme voted by contestants. And it's a lot of fun, especially if you hang out on the IRC channel.

Now don't be scared by the "mad Lua skillz" assertion, LD is one of the best ways to learn (with all the people around to help), and also to motivate yourself to make a complete game. Small game, but complete. It gives you a pretext, and you usually end up with something way cooler than you thought you could do in two days.

Several contestants have announced they would use LÖVE already, including me.
So join us for the fun!

Oh yeah.
I don't know how to end this post.

Ahah.

I'll enter using love if I can find the time..

I'm kind of busy, but I'm sure I'll find the time to come up with something.

48 hours. Too little. It's taken me months to get what I have now. But I look forward to seeing what comes of this.

That is the whole point

and If you complete something somewhat fun and polished in that timeframe it really is a big motivational boost

Alas, I'm too busy this weekend to do Ludum Dare, as much as I'd löve to bolster the ranks of contestants.

Still, I'll be cheering from the sidelines for anyone using LÖVE!
